In a game of craps, you’ll see all types of gamblers, misers and high-rollers alike.  But mostly, this game attracts the high-rollers.  That doesn’t mean a beginner can’t play though.  In fact, craps is perfect for beginners.  It’s because you don’t really need any real skill to play this game.  It’s easy to understand so you can be sure that the odds of winning in a game of craps are better than roulette, blackjack, slots, and even baccarat.

What is Craps?

Craps, primarily, is a dice game that is based on chance.  If you can’t picture what this game is like, then try to envision those Las Vegas movies where a player would ask a blond woman to blow on the dice for luck, and the melodramatically toss the dice into the table.  Yep, it’s that game.  See?  I told you it was exciting.

The Dice

Internet Blackjack Anyway, there are two pieces of dice rolled in the game.  Each player around the table would take turns with the dice in a series of rounds.  And the first throw in each new round is called the ‘come-out roll’.  The person holding the dice would be called the ‘shooter’.When the dice stabilizes on the table, the total is counted.  If the total happens to be 7, 11, 2, 3, or 12, on the first throw or at the come-out roll, then the game will be restarted.  2, 3, and 12 are called ‘craps’, meaning that if they come out, you automatically lose.  But even if you’ve already lost, you still have to continue playing until you get an actual seven.  If you get 7 or 11, then they are wins, and you subsequently get the equivalent of your bet. By now, you must be wondering what happens if the other numbers come out.  Well, what happens is that the total becomes the ‘point’.  The dice will have to be rolled over and over again until the point comes out again, which would herald the end of that round and herald the start of a new one.  If you roll a seven before you get the number that was your point, however, you will lose.
